Data and Strategy Specialist Supporting Consumer-Centric Business

The clearest way to meaningfully move towards more consumer-centric and evidence-based business strategy is to start with an upcoming business goal and create a project with clear qualitative and/or quantitative outcome.

Consultancy projects are created with one to three month targets that produce short term, tangible success while evolving your long term process for making consumer-centric business decisions.

How It Works

Consultancy projects focus on three themes: Research, Storytelling, and Infrastructure.

We sit down in a discovery meeting to determine which of the following themes (or combination of themes) best aligns with your upcoming business objectives.

  • Research

  • Storytelling

  • Infrastructure

Research

Problem:

If you're making business decisions without collecting information on your intended community/consumers, the problem they face, and the ecosystem where they operate, you're likely making decisions based on your own experiences and feelings. Operating without research makes you less prepared to create products and/or services that provide real value.

Process:

We assess your goals, budget, and tools to find resourceful ways of creating data that fills in the knowledge gaps your business may have. These methods can include:

  • Interviews
  • Surveys
  • Desktop research
  • Profiling and avatar creation
  • System mapping

Outcome Options:

  • Dataset(s) that capture and represent the information researched.
  • Accompanying report(s) that document information for internal future reference.

Case Studies

Each project is unique, but here are a few examples of previous works:

  • VR Event

  • MRI Tech

  • PIT Publication

Virtual Reality Event Case Study

Problem:

Someone working on a virtual reality career accessibility project was preparing to run an event that brought people together with VR technology, projects, and companies and wanted capture data about the event and participants to support future funding proposals. They didn’t currently have a process for doing this as it was in the early stages of the project.

Process:

I created the pre-event questions to understand the attendees’ interests, situations, and motivations to engage in virtual reality. I attended the VR event to encourage attendees to answer follow-up questions and also hear from them about topics we may not have predicted.

Outcome:

The survey answers and resulting data were discussed to draw some analysis that would be useful for future positioning and service delivery.
